Meet Janet
I have been obsessed with dogs since I was a kid. For nearly two decades I have built my life and career around taking care of them and learning about them, an endeavor I never intend to quit.
My journey started in 2007 at a dog daycare, where I spent years immersed in caring for a pack of dogs, many of whom I watched grow up. I managed their play, loved on them, did basic training, and learned firsthand that every dog is a true individual with their own personality. It was there that I discovered my passion for understanding dog behavior and began apprenticing under an experienced groomer.
After a break from the working world, mostly spent with my dog on the beach, I returned to the industry through the front desk of a busy kennel. Seeing things from the human side taught me equally important lessons: how much people love their pets, what a positive impact dogs have on the lives of the people who love them, and how much trust and transparency matter in this work.
I returned to grooming around 2018 and have been perfecting my craft in a salon environment ever since. But over time I began to realize that packed schedules, noise, deadlines, and a focus on numbers were not for me. I began to imagine a better way, where each dog’s needs are fully accommodated, stressful triggers are eliminated, and the wellbeing of the dog is always put first. Where there is no rushing and each appointment takes as long as it needs to.
A.D.A.P.T. is the product of years of imagining that better way. I started it because I believe every dog deserves more than an appointment, they deserve an experience. No waiting in cold metal cages. No strange dogs. No separation anxiety. No chaos. Just your dog, their space, and someone who genuinely loves what they do.
That’s what A.D.A.P.T. means to me; All Dogs Are People Too. Let me give them the care they deserve.
